Job Description
UCP was founded in 1947 to improve the quality of life for people with Cerebral Palsy. Since then, it has grown into a national organization providing services for individuals with a wide range of disabilities and their families. UCP of Eastern CT works to facilitate the full inclusion of people with disabilities into both the workplace and the community.
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position with primary hours between 8:00am-4:00pm. Frequent work in the New London County community; some assignments may be along the shoreline in Middlesex County. Some flexibility is required to accommodate the work schedules of the individuals we support. The Job Coach will provide services and supports that expand equitable employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities in inclusive workplaces.
STARTING RATE: $20.00/hour
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conduct work evaluations and develop career goals with individuals, encouraging team collaboration and input.
- Identify and create job, internship, and volunteer opportunities to build skills and support competitive employment.
- Use structured teaching methods to train individuals on job tasks and workplace expectations.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with employers; regularly monitor and communicate about job performance.
- Document daily notes, track progress, and write reports; implement goals from ISPs and IEPs into daily activities.
- Ensure compliance with agency policies, maintain confidential records, and follow HIPAA guidelines.
- Provide transportation to program participants around the local community. Train participants to utilize public transportation when appropriate.

WORK SETTING AND CONDITIONS
This position will require frequent work in the community with the Individuals. Will require frequent adjustments in work schedule in order to meet the Individuals work schedule.

Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification (we can provide this!)
- Current PMT Certification (we can provide this!)
- Current Driver's License, auto insurance; and a clean driving record.
- Skill and compassion working with and teaching individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated technology competency.
- Adaptable to a variety of situations, working conditions and schedules.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, lift, twist, push and pull to complete assigned tasks.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
- Ability to drive for individual transportation to and from home and to/from worksites.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Two years related experience
- Associates degree, Bachelors preferred
- CESP certification preferred (we can provide this!)
