Job purpose:

Serve as consultant to assigned clinical team to provide supported employment services to individuals who express an interest in employment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As an integrated team member, work with assigned multidisciplinary team in collaboration with clinicians, a psychiatrist and case managers to provide supported employment services.
  • Serve as job developer to case load of up to 25 individuals.  This may include, but is not limited to: career exploration, job development, job placement, career counseling, on or off site job coaching/support, advocacy.
  • May serve as Case Manager to assigned individuals, which may include physical assessment job placement and coaching, crisis intervention and advocacy, community-based assessments. 
  • Provide supports, based on individual need, to assist individuals to become employed in a competitive setting and to retain that employment.
  • Receive supervision from Employment Services Manager.  Much of the daily operations with individuals must be coordinated without direct supervision.
  • Coordinate team approach for development/implementation of workplace (within the recovery plan) for each consumer on case load.
  • Provide job development and employment supports on or away from the job site as needed.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the behavioral sciences preferred.
  • One year job development/employment experience with people with mental illness preferred.
  • May be required to communicate in another language and understand another culture i.e., Spanish, sign language.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • You are required to be in possession of a car on site during your entire shift to transport yourself and/or individuals served to community sites in all weather conditions and throughout all neighborhoods.
  • Depending upon assignment, must be able to work in a variety of settings, weather conditions and locations.
  • Must maintain PMT and CPR certification.
  • Knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office and the internet.
  • Work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Have physical endurance to use physical crisis intervention techniques which may include restraining individuals.
  • Provide physical interventions which may include lifting, mobility, first aid, and safety evacuations.
  • Communicate clearly in oral and written form on a constant basis.
  • Work independently, utilize good judgment, and possess a strong sense of initiative.
  • Move and lift weights up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis.
